We’re not long back from holiday in Greece with friends. And it was, honestly, one of the most magical and spoiling holidays ever: boat days, swimming in the crystal clear sea; fresh, scrumptious Greek Salads on repeat; thick yogurt and honey (and cake!) for breakfast; long, lazy, happy meals chatting about everything and nothing; evening cocktails and midnight ice cream in the buzzy port… We were staying with friends in Hydra, which is a small, beautiful island roughly an hour or so by ferry from Athens, where there are no cars or proper roads, just beaches, rocks and picturesque houses. I had never been before and loved discovering this corner of the world that feels so untouched by time, in the very best of ways. I’m longing to go back.
As ever, when going on holiday, what to pack was a quandary. I’ve put together a little diary of what I wore, and a few thoughts on how to transition some of my more summery outfits into Autumn, as now that I’m back home, the air is beginning to feel that little bit chillier and the mood is all very back-to-school… But still, am clinging on to those last rays and memories of summer sunshine.
So: this Mango dress is the dream for travelling. It’s a heavier fabric than it looks so drapes in quite a flattering way, while still feeling floaty and lacy; but by some miracle (and this is the crucial thing when travelling) it doesn’t seem to crease and also packs down to almost nothing! You could easily dress it up with a strappy heel (something like this) for a fancier vibe, or go barefoot (or quasi-barefoot) like I did here for something more casual. As we nudge our way to cooler, autumn days I also think it will be nice with a cardigan, like this one or this chunkier one, and potentially either a pair of chunky shoes (obsessed with these) or boots.

I bought this sweet little matching crop top and shorts in a shop my friend Charlotte discovered in the port : it’s made from repurposed vintage tablecloths. You can find a selection of similar shorts, tops, shirts and skirts made from vintage linens on Etsy and take your pick! As a side note, am now obsessed with this playsuit made from a 1940s California souvenir tablecloth (SO cute!! Someone grab it before I do!!).
I wore the full outfit over my swimsuit for a day out on a boat, but you can also break the top and the bottoms up and style them differently for different looks, if you like.
