It’s finally Spring. Officially, properly, actually Spring. Woohoo! WOOHOO!
March was full of good things. It was my birthday, so there was cake. But other good things too. Here are a few of favourites I thought you might enjoy too…

My mother bought me these super cute stripe-y flats as a (early) birthday present and I love them. Wonderfully comfy, but also a little fancy with the velvet and mesh stripes. I love this shade of bordeaux, which feels equal parts ‘day’ and ‘evening’, but the shoes also come in a very fetching ‘black panther’ print, with polka dots or in black with shimmering diamanté, if you prefer… We do love a good polka dot.

I absolutely loved this documentary about Royal Ballet star, Steve McRae, and his extraordinary, two year recovery from a devastating injury. It’s a gripping, deeply inspiring watch for anyone who loves the ballet and/or an underdog.

I read this book for the latest meeting of our book club and enjoyed it hugely. Beautifully written, and the kind of thought-provoking novel that has you still thinking about it weeks later. Set in London in the 1980s, it explores themes of sexuality, class, friendship, love, ambition, betrayal, and all those sorts of things which, for better or for worse, make the world go round, through the lens of Nick, a young, handsome and gay English literature graduate finding his way in a often cruel world.

I’m a huge Max Richter fan generally, but this particular collection is just wonderfully calming and relaxing. I’ll often listen to it, when I’m struggling to go to sleep or when I’m trying to wind down from a hectic day.

I was at Gleneagles for a work trip a few weeks ago, and am now longing to go back on holiday with my family too. It’s such a magical place: the views! The breakfast spread (with an adorable mini buffet for children too)! The shopping (there’s a fabulous edit of boutiques in the wings of the hotel)! The food generally, but most especially the cakes (I’m still dreaming of that chocolate custard croissant cake with its soft meringue topping)! The walks through the dramatic Scottish countryside! Basically, all of it!!

It’s back again… my favourite day of the year… the Women for Women Charity Car Boot Sale!!! Woohoo! Get your tickets NOW! Tickets are selling out fast, so go now now now. Saturday 17th May at the Selfridges Car Park; lots of car-boots, lots of stylish people selling off their own wardrobes, and every single penny goes to the charity. It’s such a fun day, with fantastic energy, live DJs, food trucks and SO MANY BARGAINS to be had! Also, guilt free shopping, because, let me say it again, EVERY SINGLE PENNY GOES TO CHARITY! I’ll be running a boot with my friend, Charlotte, who - officially - has the world’s best shoe collection and the most incredible wardrobe; and we’ll both be selling off so many of our favourite pieces. Please come and say hi and shop shop shop! Can’t wait to see you there!
